The Donny Fund Inc., a 501 (c) (3) charitable organization, was started in 1993 to honor the memory of Donald Sykes. The Fund started as a division of the John and Nancy Sykes Foundation, and its mission is to provide assistance to families who have a child with a catastrophic illness or traumatic injury. The Donny Fund Inc. is a 100% volunteer organization and all funds are utilized by local families as they attempt to provide for their youngster under difficult conditions. In co-operation with The Greater Atlantic Cancer Fund, a sister charity for adults, over $1.1M dollars have been granted to regional families experiencing challenging medical issues.
